The daughter is Harvey Welker a Native American father, and Julie Welker an African-American mother. Her mother is a real estate agent while her father is an engineer. Walker was a student at the Germantown Friends School located in Philadelphia's Germantown in 1994, and was awarded a diploma in 1994. Then, in 1998 she received her degree from Harvard College with a Bachelor's degree. Welker is married for over 20 years with John Hughes who is a famous marketing director at Merck Philadelphia. They are parents to two children. In 2014 they began having an affair with one other. John her husband has an age difference of four years compared to her.
