Anya Taylor Joy was born in Miami Florida on 16 April 1996. Dennis Alan Taylor is a retired banker. Jennifer Marina Joy is a psychologist. Her father is an Argentinan of Scottish and English descent is her mother. Her mother is Spanish and has English roots. Taylor-Joy is the youngest of five children from her father's prior marriage. The family lived at Buenos Aires until she was six then relocated to the Victoria area of London. Taylor Joy stated that moving from Buenos aires to Victoria was a struggle and she didn't take the time to learn English and was hoping to go back to Argentina. Hill House, a school located in the same area as Northlands was required to take her. After that, she was enrolled at Queen's Gate School, where she studied dance and performed in plays. After she turned sixteen, Taylor-Joy resigned from the school to pursue a full-time acting profession. Taylor-Joy always wished to be an actor.
