Taylor Swift, the rarest pop phenomenon is a star who has managed to cross between the genres of country and mainstream pop culture and become an icon of the world of pop. The singer also swept every continent in the process. Swift let go of the influences from her country music in the sense that they had been added as an extra layer of skin, revealing she was among the most talented singers/songwriters in her time. Swift could make the moment personal or harness it for her benefit. These skills were evident on her early hits including the neo-tribute Tim McGraw but her second album in 2008's Fearless showcased a songwriter discovering who she was and in the process finding the mass market. The album was a huge success, not just in the United States, having six platinum-certified songs. The Top Ten songs Love Story and the hit song You Belong with Me were the main reasons for this. But, it also did very well across the globe. Swift's next album, Speak Now, released almost two years after the debut, further consolidated this success. The album propelled Swift to the heights of fame. The singer's popularity increased through her subsequent three albums: Red (2012) 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017). Swift became a household name within an industry she felt was hers to be. It was not long before she altered her plan by releasing 2020's streamlined the folk singer (and Evermore) and stayed in the forefront of pop culture.
